Poll: What Do You Think Of The New Lower Prices in App World?
Until today App World developers were forced to price their apps from $2.99 or up. This was arguably both a good and bad thing based on what side of the fence you sit on. Other app stores are full of 99 cent apps which leads to quite a few one trick pony apps. I used to think that the $2.99 price point was intended to promote quality apps but I may have been wrong.
RIM let us know that as of today developers will be able to price their apps at $0.99 and $1.99. This leads me to believe that the reason for the $2.99 price point was because of PayPal. Now that RIM has carrier billing and credit card billing along with the new 70/30 revenue share with developers things have changed.
So I am curious what you think of these new lower price points in App World:
